Breakout- Reimagined

Focus Areas: Game Development, Game Art & Visuals

The challenge was to develop Breakout using only SFML Libraries. This was new for me but I was able to not only create a functioning product but also add power-ups and visual juice to the game. All the art assets in the game were created by myself.

This is similar to the original Breakout game, move the paddles, destroy all the blocks to progress, if you lose the ball you lose a life. The speed of the ball increases after every level, and there are 3 levels that cycle in a loop. With this project, I got the opportunity to design levels for Breakout, which had its own unique set of challenges. However, there was a lot to learn, experiment, and explore all the while creating a game that is more than just functioning.
